This platform publishes the applied analysis behind a working protective practice. The writing here on hybrid threats, protective intelligence, cognitive warfare, and the information environment is not theory observed from a distance. It is drawn from operations and feeds back into them.

The practice is Ombrex, an international security practice based in the Netherlands. It operates through two connected functions: Ombrex Consulting, the strategic and analytical layer, and Ombrex Group, the operational layer. Executive protection, complex travel security, countersurveillance, protective intelligence, security frameworks, and Hybrid Threat Awareness training are delivered there, organised around how risk actually moves across digital, social, informational, and physical channels rather than how it used to be categorised.

Who is behind the analysis

Ombrex is co-founded by Björn Rifesser and Mel E., both with senior royal-household and international protection experience built over more than two decades. Björn leads the strategic and analytical function and writes the analysis published here, drawing on an MSc in Diplomacy and Security Studies and research in cognitive warfare, influence operations, and platform-enabled perception management. Mel leads the operational function. Where an engagement requires additional capability, it is drawn from a vetted network of specialists, each known personally and selected for judgment as much as for technical skill.
